About WLJS 91.9 FM

WLJS 91.9 FM  has been broadcasting from the campus of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, since Sept. 29, 1975, when students succeeded in obtaining a broadcast license and went on the air for the first time.

Known also over the years as 92 Rock and 92 J, the student-operated WLJS 91.9 FM today is a key part of the education of JSU communication majors concentrating in digital media production. Students serve the campus community with music, entertainment and informational programs.

The station’s non-commercial educational broadcast license is held by the Jacksonville State University Board of Trustees. Our FCC public file is available here. Our programming is also provided in a live digital stream available online and through your favorite smart speaker systems — just ask your smart speaker to “Play WLJS.”
